Meet Matatabi Taro & The Spirit of “Dogyo Ninin”
In traditional Japanese pilgrimage culture, there is a beautiful spiritual concept called Dogyo Ninin (同行二人), which translates to “two traveling together.” It signifies that even a solo traveler is never truly alone, as a spiritual guardian always walks beside them.
For OHA, that guardian and constant travel companion is Matatabi Taro, our official feline ambassador! Taro accompanies OHA everywhere in the true spirit of Dogyo Ninin. He translates OHA’s real-world experiences, travel hacks, and deep cultural knowledge into fun, accessible stories for readers around the world. Because OHA is busy taking photos and exploring, Taro navigates and tells the stories on his behalf!
